On behalf of the team here at St John’s CE Primary School I would like to welcome you to our school website, where I hope you will find a lot of useful information about our school. We are a one-form entry primary school welcoming children from the age of 2 years 3 months to age 11. St John’s is committed to providing a strong Christian ethos which is at the heart of all that we do as a school. We pride ourselves on our family feel, our inclusivity and our ambition for all children to become successful learners and caring citizens.

Gardening at St John's is going well with lots of plants blooming around the school site! Year 2 are now learning, with James from The Seedlings Programme, about looking after the plants and removing weeds where necessary. #growingandlearningtogether #stjohnswey
This week in our Forest School After School Club, with HOBs Bottom Forest School Camps, the children took inspiration from the new 'Strawberry Moon' for our dads, making clay pictures, messages and loving them to the moon and back. Some of our explorers wanted to make a new shelter and climb trees. They had a lot of 'new moon' energy! We also refreshed ourselves with some elderflower cordial, made from St John's own elderflowers! #growingandlearningtogether #stjohnswey
Yesterday, Thursday 12th June, our Year 6 class joined all of the Year 6 classes within our Trust, at Salisbury Cathedral, to celebrate them all, in our DSAT Leavers' Service. Thank you to Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust for organising a brilliant and reflective service. #growingandlearningtogether #stjohnswey
Please can we ask that any sponsorship money, for our Eco Day Litter Pick, is brought to school today, Friday 13th June. Thank you again for all of your support #growingandlearningtogether #stjohnswey
Thank you to the parents who attended our Summer Fair Planning Meeting on Monday 9th June. There are still lots of stalls that need running in order for the fair to take place and without more support from parents/carers and families, the fair will not be able to go ahead. This is a great opportunity to support us as your child's school and have fun together as a school community whilst raising vital funds for St John's.
Reminder - Year 5 Weyfest Information Meeting is being held today, Thursday 12th June at 3.15pm in the Year 5 classroom. It is important that a representative from each family attend this meeting if possible. Thank you.
On Thursday 5th June, Year 2 braved the wet weather and walked to Weymouth Library. The children are currently reading the story 'Luna Loves Library Day' in their English lessons, and in a few weeks time, they will be writing a recount of their morning out. Although the walk along Weymouth beach was a little wet, the children had a wonderful morning and they were all able to borrow a library book to bring back to school! The children finished their exciting morning with a classroom picnic! #growingandlearningtogether #stjohnswey
On Thursday 5th June, Year 6 loved travelling on a train (especially the tunnel!) and a boat. Brownsea Island was beautiful, if a little drizzly, but they still saw red squirrels, a sika deer, sea birds with their chicks and even a family of ducklings. It was a great day and the children represented the school brilliantly. #growingandlearningtogether #stjohnswey
We are looking forward to seeing you all at our Summer Fair Planning Meeting tomorrow, Monday 9th June, 3.15pm in the school hall.
Here's a great free event happening tomorrow, 7th June at Weymouth Bay Methodist Church. See the poster for further details.
It may have been raining but that didn't stop St John's celebrating Eco Day yesterday, Thursday 6th June. The children wondered around Lodmoor Country Park in search of any rubbish they could find. They were expert spotters finding even the tiniest pieces of rubbish to make sure our local area was litter free. Some children even spent some time in our school grounds to make sure we are rubbish free! The children had so much fun cleaning up all the rubbish and are all excited for our next clean up. Thank you to all those who have sponsored the clear up, please keep anymore sponsorships coming it. #growingandlearningtogether #stjohnswey #LitterHeroes #keepbritaintidy
