Class Updates

The children conducted contraction surgery today!

We had so much fun on French Day. We had our own Tour de France, built the Eiffle Tower out of newspaper, created Monet art and ordered icecream in French.

Weather

Wow! It's so hot today - we measured 35oC on our thermometer!

JIGSAW - We are starting to learn about how things grow and change.

Eco Schools

One of our school targets is to reduce the amount of waste we have in school. In Year 1 we wanted to be eco-friendly so we reused jam jars and newspapers to make nightlights to sell at the Summer Fayre.

Annie's poster highlights the message, STOP, THINK, ACT. How can you help reduce waste in the environment?

RE Respect Week

As part of our Respect Week, we have been studying the story 'Ossiri and the Bala Mengro'. In this story Ossiri reuses objects to make a musical instrument.  This has inspired us to make things to sell at the Summer Fayre out of reused materials to show our respect for the environment.

We had great fun getting ready for the Summer Fayre.

RE Week - We loved welcoming some special visitors into our classes.

World Life Visit

We really enjoyed a visit from World Life. The children had fun learning about all the different animals. Did you know a detrivore eats dead things, such as decomposed animals and plants?

What amazing animals!

Our Cress Experiment - Which one do you think grew the best. The one in the dark or the light? Why?

Art work in the style of Andy Goldsworthy.
