Wednesday 5th June 2019
We left school full of excitement and wonder about what the day would bring and it hasn't disappointed.
Driving through a downpour of rain didn't dishearten us and the sun has been out all day in Torquay.
We arrived at Barton Hall at 12.30, unloaded the luggage and met our group leader, Ben.
After finding our chalets, unpacking and eating our lunch, we set off on a site tour.
Afternoon activities included the challenge course and crate challenge, great smiles from everyone.
Dinner was lovely, lasagne (meat and veggie) or chicken nuggets and chips with a whole variety of salad from the salad bar and a strawberry Angel Delight or fruit for pudding.
Evening entertainment was a huge game of 'capture the flag' before setting off to our rooms and settling down for the night.
Another day of adventure will fill tomorrow.
Everyone is well and safe, with full tummies and smiles.
Thursday 6th June 2019
A busy and fun filled day again today.
A delicious hot breakfast, bacon, beans, omlette, cereal and toast started our day - we needed the energy for the activities ahead.
Climbing, buggy building and problem solving were on the agenda before lunch - frustration, laughter and aching muscles from pulling and pushing the buggies down the grass.
Lunch was a choice of soup to start and pasta and bolognese with garlic bread - filling us full of energy for the hectic afternoon. Aeroball - a mixture of trampolining and basketball was energetic and rather competitive and the amazing zip wire caused a few shaky legs!
Due to the weather forecast for toomorrow, it was decided we would do the aqua fun session this evening, much to everyone's excitement.
Dinner went down well - chicken kiev, chilli or noodles and a choc ice. We also sang happy birthday to Dylan and had cake!
Another busy and fun filled day. Hopefully everyone will sleep well tonight!
Friday 7th June 2019
We woke up early as we needed to clear our rooms and pack our bags up - this was a challenge in itself!
Once we had packed, we needed to drop off the bedding and carry our bags and cases down to the main hall.
Then we headed off for breakfast - sausages, hash browns, beans, toast, cereal and fruit - ready to fuel us up for the day ahead.
The weather had taken a turn for the worst, although this didn't stop us having fun. Problem solving and climbing were on the agenda first of all, we were all thankful these activities were inside!
Once we had done these, we met back at the meeting point where we hoped the rain would ease up. Orienteering was the final activity, all based outside. Luckily we knew that we would be able to change into dry clothes at the end of the session. Everyone managed to orientate the map brilliantly and we set off in teams to try and find the different orienteering punches around the site.
Once we had finished, we quickly headed back to find our bags and get some dry clothing before heading for our final PGL meal - burger and chips!
The coach journey home was much quieter than the one there, everyone was tired out!
What a fun filled few days.
