Wow, today was a bag filled with emotions from celebrating the children's successes to saying farewell to Year 6 and some members of staff. We hope that you all have a wonderful summer and we look forward to seeing all of the children on Friday 5th September. We will notify you of PE days on our return, ready for the week beginning 8th September.
Farewell to our wonderful Year 6 children. We are so proud of all that you have achieved this year and we wish you well for the future as you move up to your new schools in September. We will miss you!
Look at the amazing sunflowers that we have grown with James from The Seedlings Programme. We are all enjoying watching everything grow. Even the local wildlife are loving it! #growingandlearningtogether #stjohnswey
As part of their current science topic, the Year 2 children visited Weymouth Sea Life Centre to learn about different animals and their habitats. They had a great day in the sunshine, and they were able to enjoy watching the seal feeding, the fairy penguin feeding and the otter feeding. #growingandlearningtogether #stjohnswey
Today, along with the band's parents and carers, we proudly watched our Rocksteady Music School final concert of the academic year. It was a brilliant showcase of all of the amazing new skills they've learned in their band lessons! #growingandlearningtogether #stjohnswey
Just a quick reminder that, due to contractors being being at school, improving site security, our car park will be closed to parents/carers from tomorrow, Monday 21st to Wednesday 23rd July. Please ensure that you do not bring your car beyond Lynmoor Road on these days as we will end up with a traffic jam. Please park on a road before this junction and walk the rest of the way. Thank you for your understanding,
Free Uniform Swap If you need 'new to you' uniform for September, please do take a look on Monday 21st & Tuesday 22nd July, Jess will be under the shelter on the Key Stage 1 playground. We would like to ask that you only take a maximum of 2 of the same items, this will enable more parents to access uniform if needed. If you have good quality items of school uniform that your child has grown out of please can we ask that you donate these to school - washed and clean please. Don't forget Wednesday 23rd July is a non-uniform day so that any uniform items can be handed in ready to send back out to those who want them. Thank you in advance
This week we were visited by Weymouth Library who delivered an assembly to introduce the children to this year's exciting Summer Reading Challenge: Story Garden! The challenge runs from now until September, giving you plenty of time to explore new stories and discover your favourite authors. We would love to see as many children as possible sign up for this great event. All children who complete the challenge will receive a certificate, which will be presented in school. How it works: Sign up at the library – You'll receive a special Story Garden collectors' booklet. If you prefer, you can sign up online via Weymouth Library's website or by clicking on the form below. Choose your books – Storybooks, audiobooks, comic books, factual books – Anything you enjoy! Read at least six books over the Summer. Visit the Library to collect stickers and enjoy themed events. Complete the challenge to earn your certificate and medal to celebrate your summer achievement. #growingandlearningtogether #stjohnswey #summerreadingchallenge2025
