We are a one-form entry primary school welcoming children from the age of 2 years 3 months to age 11. St John’s is committed to providing a strong Christian ethos which is at the heart of all that we do as a school. Year 6 Monday 2nd March, is National Secondary/Upper Offer day, please make sure you have your Dorset Council School Admissions login and password details ready to view your child's outcome, which will be available from 09.30am. Anyone who applied late will find out on 30th March. #stjohnswey

This year, we will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 5th March and we would like to invite all children to dress up as a character from one of their favourite books. It would also be fantastic if your child could bring in a copy of the book that has inspired their costume. This will be a non-uniform day, no hair dye please. We are also pleased to tell you that on Thursday 5th March we will be hosting a Family Breakfast. Be sure to join us nice and early to guarantee your roll. Mrs Aze and Mrs Cast have been invited to plant trees as a celebration of the partnership between Wiru Primary School and StJohn's Primary School The Kenyan Primary Curriculum has a strong ecological focus and children are taught about the importance of respecting and looking after the environment. #growingandlearningtogether #stjohnswey

We have had a wonderful time visiting St John's link school, Wiru Primary School in Kenya this week. We have been made to feel so welcome by all of the staff and pupils. A special thank you to head teacher, Mrs Aileen Mugendi and teachers Mr Wycliffe Miriti and Mrs Charity Thuranira.

We have had a brilliant end to another busy half term with a non-uniform reward day for HAWKS on 12th February and whole school non-uniform day today, Friday 13th February, supporting Children's Mental Health by raising funds for Place2Be charity. We also came together as a whole school in our Celebration Worship! School is now closed for the half term break and we look forward to welcoming all of the children back on Monday 23rd February 2026. PE days will be sent via an In-App message and added to our Facebook page before our return to school.

This week is Children's Mental Health Week and the theme this year is 'This is My Place'. You can find out more information here https://www.place2be.org.uk/ On Friday 13th February, we will be supporting Place2Be Charity by holding a non-uniform day in exchange for a suggested donation of £1 or whatever you can afford.
