Our nursery class have reached a huge milestone in less than 8 months!! The team from the nursery, have been counting each and every book that children have requested to read, and in 8 months they have read over 1000 books. The nursery have been focused on creating a love of books in the very youngest children in the community. Parents have also been supporting this through borrowing books from the Nursery Library and sending in photos of their children at home enjoying a good book. The nursery team and all of us at St John's feel super proud of the children and this amazing achievement. #growingandlearningtogether #stjohnswey

Today, Tuesday 28th April, we had the RNLI beach lifeguards teaching us how to stay safe at the beach! We learnt how to 'Stop, Think, Stay Together, Float and dial 999'. It was interactive and informative and we're all looking forward to some fun, safe and sunny days at the beach! #stjohnswey #growingandlearningtogether
Reminder - Fraser Portraits will be in school tomorrow, Friday 24th April, to take group/class photographs of the children. Please can all children wear SCHOOL UNIFORM. If they usually have PE on a Friday, please bring a PE kit to school in a bag. Thank you.
This half term in computing, Year 6 are using a program called Tinkercad to make 3D models. They are learning all the basics of how to move and manipulate 3D shapes to create a variety of different things. In today's lesson, Tuesday 21st April, they were all able to make their own very impressive model houses! We are really impressed with how quickly the Year 6 class has been able to pick up these skills which will be so helpful to them in an increasingly digital world. #growingandlearningtogether #stjohnswey

Although they didn't win, they did the school proud! The boys football team also played in the local tournament on 27th February. They also fought hard and put their all into it. Well done boys for great teamwork, courage and resilience! #growingandlearningtogether #stjohnswey
