They talked about how they enjoy being creative, physical and adventurous. The children made a big list of the things that they want to achieve next year and ate 'Muddy Caterpillar Kebabs'. We want to say a big thank you to Emily Stiles from HOBs Bottom Forest School Camps for bringing some fantastic outdoor learning to St John's this year! We are looking forward to being able to offer more forest school clubs next year. Don't forget, HOBs Bottom Forest School Camps run summer camps and there are some spaces left if your child would like to join in! During the week 23rd - 27th June, our children enjoyed taking part in Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust Bay Hub Arts Week. St John's, St Nicholas & St Laurence, Beechcroft and St Andrews all looked at the same four paintings by a local artist, Gina Marshal. The children then created artwork inspired by these paintings. A Selection of the children's art work is on display at St John's church for the new 2 weeks. The church is open for services on Sunday mornings as well as Wednesday mornings 10-1:00. All parents/carers are invited to go and view the work. It has been wonderful to collaborate again with our Bay Hub schools and we are so grateful to St John's Church, Weymouth for giving our art a chance to shine outside of the classrooms. #stjohnswey #growingandlearningtogether
On Thursday 26th June the nursery classes at St John's and Beechcroft joined together for a day out at Farmer Palmers. They experienced a very bumpy tractor ride, stroked Guinea Pigs, met some very cheeky goats and got to play in the hay bales. A fantastic day was had by all! It was a lovely opportunity to meet and make friends with other children from across the trust. Grown ups and Children enjoyed the day immensely! #growingandlearningtogether #stjohnswey
We had a brilliantly sunny day at Kingston Maurward on Wednesday 25th June. The children got to feed goats - they were very hungry. After feeding the goats we went on the outdoor play area, soft play and went round to see all the other animals, who were basking in the sun. We finished our day by going for a walk down to the lake, where we saw dragonflies and ducks. The children were delightful and their impeccable behaviour was mentioned by staff and visitors. Thank you to Miss Rist & Mrs Hunt for organising this trip and to the teaching staff and parent helpers for making the trip happen. #growingandlearningtogether
