Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
On Friday 12th January, our Year 2 class embarked on an exciting adventure to the Sea City Museum in Southampton. During our visit we learnt lots of facts about the Titanic, conducted a science experiment to find out how the Titanic sank and were able to look at objects that would have been used by the people on board the Titanic. Some of the children even tried on clothes which would have been worn by some of the passengers and crew.
Thank you to Miss Williams and the Year 2 team for organising a brilliant experience for our children, as well as the parent helpers who volunteered their time to make this trip happen! We all had a great time!
It's that time again where we have celebrated great attendance in our whole school worship with our attendance raffle prizes.
Congratulations to our lucky winners!
Remember, all you need to do is come to school every day to be in with a chance of winning one of these fantastic prizes. Every child is back in with a chance next half term.
The Years 3 & 4 Forest School After School Club have been busy den building and hammock making using different materials. They have also been creating crosses from sticks.
We had a fantastic day dressing in pj's to help raise vital funds for Children in Need and what a brilliant way to end the day with 'Splat the Teacher'. A big thank you goes to all the teachers who nominated themselves to be part of this and a huge thank you goes to everyone who donated to vote for a teacher! Miss Adams and Miss Williams were the 'lucky' winners! Well done to them for being great sports!
We raised a massive £184.37, thank you so much for your generosity.
Our Years 5 & 6 Football Teams took part in a competition at Redlands Sports grounds today. They represented the school brilliantly!
Year 6 children from across Dorset schools, attended Primary Sports Leadership Academy at Wey Valley today. They have been learning the roles and responsibilities of the Sports Leaders which they can then bring back to St John's
Well done to those that took part, it's been great seeing you put your new skills into practice.
We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone for supporting our drive to improve attendance. This half term we have seen our best attendance percentages, for this time of year, since 2020! We have celebrated this today in our whole school worship with our attendance raffle prizes.
Congratulations to our lucky winners today!
Remember, every child is back in with a chance, to win one of our raffle prizes, next half term.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who donated food items for our Harvest Table this year. We will be making a delivery to Weymouth Foodbank later in the week. It was lovely to share this wonderful time of year at St John's with friends and families.
Years 1 & 2 Forest School After School Club have been making a big bug hotel at the back of the field and the children have loved checking to see what bugs have already made a home there!
