On Thursday 24th October, a group of Y6 children took part in a hockey day at Redlands. They joined with children from schools across Weymouth to learn a range of hockey skills.
On Friday, 11th October, St. John's competed in the local schools' 7-a-side football tournament. Despite a soggy start to the day, the boys fought hard and showed great teamwork. They won three games, drew two and lost two, just missing out on a place in the semi-finals. There were some super goals, saves and determination from all members of the team.
The first ever St. John's girls' team also worked hard to win two of their group stage games, resulting in them winning the group. In the semi-final they sadly lost 1-0 to St. Osmunds but they also should be very proud of their achievement. Well done to all the players!
This week we have celebrated Harvest at St John's Church and also in school. Thanks to all who have generously sent in food and money donations- we raised £179.22. The food will be sent to Soul Food in Weymouth and the money will go to support the provision of hot lunches for children at out Kenyan link school Wiru Primary. Thank you also to Lily-Pearl's dad, Danny who is helping to deliver the food :)
