• Children's Mental Health Week 5th-9th Feb

  This week we have celebrated Children's Mental Health Week with the theme, ' My Voice Matters'.
  This is about empowering children and young people by providing them with the tools they need to express themselves.
  When we feel empowered, this can have a positive impact on our wellbeing. Children and young people who feel that their voices are heard and can make a difference have a greater sense of community and self-esteem. This year, we want children of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to be empowered to work together to create a positive change for their mental health and wellbeing.
  During Children’s Mental Health Week we want all children and young people to be able to say – and believe - “My Voice Matters”.

  We have ended the week with 'Express Yourself Day' and every child has chosen a wellbeing activity to end their day. This could be one of these *Football *Yoga *Art & Colouring *Dance *Playdough *Hama Beads. Do have a conversation with your child about what they have been learning over the half term holiday.

  

• Attendance Awards

  We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone for supporting our drive to improve attendance.  We have celebrated this today in our whole school worship with our attendance raffle prizes.

  Congratulations to our lucky winners!

  Remember, every child is back in with a chance, to win one of our raffle prizes, next half term.  All you need to do is come to school every day.

• Outdoor Learning with the Reception Class

  Every Thursday afternoon our Reception Class pull on their welly boots and coats and venture outside, ready for learning. 

  Our outdoor learning session encourages physical development as well as gaining an understanding of the world around us.

  In spring term 2 we are learning Geography skills, in particular - maps.  This will encourage our spacial awareness and positional language as well as learning how to map our journey and how to read simple maps. 

  To help embed this learning, we are recognising parts of our school on a map and also drawing our own maps whilst exploring the school grounds. 

  We are also taking advantage of our session to look out for signs of spring and new life, we can't wait to see the new flowers grow and the blossom to flourish!
