Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
We are delighted that St John's were invited to take part in the first ever Chesil Poetry Festival at Weymouth Pavilion today.
During the morning, our Year 5 pupils recited a poem, they have been practising for several weeks, to a live audience along with other schools in the local area. It was lovely to hear the variety of poems performed by all of the children involved.
Well done to Year 5 for being so professional in your recital!
Today we were visited by Vicky, the Education and Community Officer for Dorset, from The Dog's Trust.
Vicky led a whole school assembly followed by workshops in Years 4, 5 & 6.
These explored important messages to ensure safe and mutually rewarding interactions between children and dogs. The focus was on safety within the home, as well as out and about in the community.
Thank you Vicky, we look forward to seeing you again next year!
Over the Easter Break we held a reading competition to see who can read in the most unusual place.
We had some brilliant entries and the top 5 most unusual places won a £5 gift voucher to spend at our Scholastic Book Fair!
Well done to all who entered!
